OUR JOURNEY

How GalaxyTek Went from One Hire to an Industry Force

GalaxyTek Hires didn’t launch with fanfare. No funding round, no glossy debut - just a belief that the world’s most ambitious projects deserved better recruiting partners.

In 2015, our founder, Brandon Garrett, left the front lines of aerospace recruiting at SpaceX with one mission: build a firm that could move faster, think deeper, and actually deliver. A proud University of Texas at Austin, Moody School of Communications graduate, with an Astrophysics concentration, Brandon brought Longhorn grit into building GalaxyTek from the ground up.

He knew the stakes because he’d lived them. In aerospace, every hire counts.

There’s no room for filler. Timelines are brutal. Budgets are tight. The margin for error? Zero.

So GalaxyTek started as a one-person shop with a clear focus: connect high-stakes teams with high-impact talent.

What happened next wasn’t luck - it was follow-through. Word spread. Referrals rolled in. Not because we were flashy, but because we showed up and delivered. Quietly. Consistently. With space-grade precision.

Eventually, the workload outgrew the team of one. But the first hire had to be someone with the same intensity, ownership, and belief in the mission - someone who’d throw in all their chips on GalaxyTek.

That someone turned out to be family.

Michael Hentrich, Brandon’s brother, joined the company not just as a trusted partner, but as a Mechanical Engineer by trade. A fellow UT Austin grad, Cockrell School of Engineering, his background brought both technical fluency and fearless energy. He wasn’t just qualified, he was all in.

With two brothers at the helm, GalaxyTek officially became a family business. And not just in name, family is at the heart of how we operate. Close-knit, high-accountability, and all about showing up for the mission and for each other.

As we grew, so did our reach. We began supporting classified programs, advanced manufacturing, and next-gen space-tech. And more teams outside of aerospace started calling. Not because of some big pivot, but because the work was just as technical, just as urgent, just as unforgiving.

They didn’t want another vendor. They wanted a true partner - one who could actually keep up.

So we evolved. Not with bloat, but with purpose. We built out embedded support models, on-demand sourcing capabilities, and full-stack recruiting solutions for the teams building what’s next. When the pandemic hit, we realized that this sort of global impact could shut down all industries but one. We decided to further diversify the portfolio and stand up our healthcare vertical.

Today, GalaxyTek supports clients ranging from stealth-mode startups to federal primes. We’ve got Talent Partners across the U.S. and beyond, but our roots are still firmly in Texas, and our mindset is still the same as day one: every hire matters.

Because it does.

We’re proud to be a family-owned company. Proud of where we started, and how far we’ve come. But mostly, we’re excited for what’s next.

Because the future isn’t built by algorithms alone.
It’s built by people—at the right time, in the right place.

That’s what we do.

And we’re just getting started.
